Riquewihr, also designated one of the ‘most beautiful villages in France’, is one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Europe. Unchanged since the 16th century, it served as the inspiration for the village setting in Disney’s *Beauty and the Beast*.

Riquewihr lies at the heart of the Schoenenbourg Grand Cru. It is home to renowned wine estates (Hugel, Dopff & Irion). In December, its traditional Christmas market is a delight. Combine a visit here with trips to Ribeauvillé (5 km) and Hunawihr (3 km) for a full day out on the wine route.
