The Colmar Christmas market is one of the most authentic and beautiful in Alsace. Six markets spread across the historic centre, over 180 chalets, entertainment, concerts, mulled wine tastings, bredele and Alsatian specialities. The illuminations in Petite Venise create a magical atmosphere.
Our tip for making the most of it
Avoid weekends in December (which are very busy). It’s best to visit during the week, and ideally in the late afternoon to enjoy the lights without the crowds. Make sure you wear warm shoes. The Hôtel de l’Ange is the ideal base for visitors to Colmar’s markets, whilst avoiding the exorbitant prices of accommodation in Colmar during December.
